The first engineering school in the Cagayan Valley Region, established in 1955 by Rev. Paul Zwaenepoel, CICM, then Dean of Saint Mary's College, with pioneer faculty Engr. Ruperto A. Bayabos Sr.
In September 1979 Saint Mary's was chosen as one of the Ten Supplementary Engineering Schools of the Philippines by the Engineering Education Project. Its Civil Engineering programme has been PAASCU accredited since 1995.
