Brief History of microbiology and parasitology

Life as we know it would not exist without microorganisms. We use microorganisms to make wine, cheese and to develop vaccines and antibiotics. The human body is home to billions of microorganisms, many of which help keep us healthy. Microorganisms are not only an essential part of our lives but quite literally a part of us.

Parasitology- is the area of biology concerned with the phenomenon of dependence of one living organism on another. Medical parasitology deals with the parasites which infect man, the diseases they produce, the response generated by him against them and various methods of diagnosis and prevention.
