This course focuses on the principles, methods, and tools used in assessing learners with diverse educational needs, including those with disabilities, giftedness, and other exceptionalities. The course emphasizes the use of both formal and informal, as well as standardized and non-standardized, assessment strategies to accurately identify learners’ strengths, needs, and learning profiles. It also covers ethical considerations, culturally responsive practices, and collaboration with families and professionals. Students will develop skills in interpreting assessment results and using data to inform individualized educational planning and instruction.
