This course delves on Book One of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines (Act No. 3815, as amended) . It deals with the basic principles of criminal law, felonies, circumstances affecting criminal liability such as justifying, exempting, mitigating, aggravating and alternative circumstances including absolutory causes and extenuating circumstances. It includes in its study those who are criminally liable for felonies, and the classification, duration, application and execution of penalties. It covers also the study of the extinction of criminal liabilities whether total or partial, and the civil liability of persons found guilty of felonies.
