English for Specific Purposes is one of the elective courses offered to pre-service teachers majoring in English. It generally aims to sharpen the language skills of the learners through the use of discipline-based materials for the development of academic proficiency. Hence, the course focuses on the application of content-based principles and strategies in developing language proficiency for specific purposes. The course also includes lesson planning and demonstration teaching using ESP as an approach.
