The course is designed to provide students a sound foundation in in basic principles and unifying concepts of Environmental Science. It allows them to explore the natural environment and the dynamic biological, physical and chemical interactions that characterize it. Essentially, it focuses on the role of humans in altering the natural biogeochemical cycles through the discussion of topics that include natural resources exploitation, pollution, climate change and land use changes. Emphasis will be placed in the study of local and regional environments.
