This course is an in-depth study on the laws affecting the management and disposition of the properties of a person upon his death. This includes an overview of the law on Family Relations (EO No. 209 and Book I of the Civil Code) Property (Book II), Succession (Book III of the Civil Code), Obligations and Contracts (Title V, Book IV) and Trusts (Title V, Book IV of the Civil Code). It also covers Life Insurance (Presidential Decree No. 612) and Estate Tax provisions under the TRAIN Law (RA 10963). It also includes emerging developments and trends on living wills and health care directives.
