The epidemiology and pathophysiology of cancer, cancer genetics, cancer prevention, risk assessment and reduction for certain malignancies, screening methods, diagnostic tools and criteria, and local and systemic cancer therapies are all introduced to the students. In the context of biological, psychological, socioeconomic, and sociocultural factors, the effects of individual characteristics on health promotion, health habits, population cancer risk, and cancer detection are examined throughout age groups, from teens to older persons. For populations at risk, those who have been diagnosed with cancer, and cancer survivors, evidence-based practice recommendations and research are used to encourage healthy lifestyles, monitor cancer risk, treat psychological difficulties, facilitate access to care, and reduce health care inequities.
