Asian Comparative Studies

Asian Comparative Studies embeds a parallelism of Asian Nations’ geography, history, socio-economic and demographic profiles, education, tourism, environment, infrastructure development, problems shared by Asian Nations and development of Asia as seen through a variety of lenses, and in the context of the nations’ social history, political and cultural theories, as well as modern public culture brought by the changing signs of the times.

The course also provides varied comparative information and extremely broad sets of issues about Asian continent that enrich the teaching of Social Studies in the local setting and its application to the global community. It serves to form, strengthen, widen, and enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values of social studies graduate students about Asia and its role in an increasingly interdependent world.
