This course is designed to understand and develop operational and performance audits that concentrate efforts on future rather than past events. The students will learn how to assess control systems to manage key business risks, and evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness. Real-life examples and exercises would provide training on the aspects of how to conduct risk-based audits and eventually the preparation of an operations audit report.

This course lets the students learn to identify the needs of society, to actively seek answers to these needs in the form of new products or services, to quantify the risks of offering these products or services to the market, and to evaluate the resulting projects in terms of societal priorities and the well-being of the larger community. The student builds on the underlying principle that he/she should seek to generate a fair return by meeting the needs of his customers, rather than emphasizing purely on his own interests and concerns.

Organic Chemistry is a subject that deals with all chemical phenomena involving carbon-containing compounds. Moreover, this course will acquaint students to be versatile and equipped with all the skills needed for a competent researcher in the field of organic synthesis, natural products, phytochemical analysis, and in pharmacological synthesis and analysis. This course includes the following topics on the structure and properties of organic compounds, bonding and molecular structure of compounds, chemical activity and organic reactions, alkanes, alkenes, cycloalkanes, stereochemistry, alkyl halide, alkynes and dienes, aromaticity and benzene, alcohols and ethers, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and its derivatives, amines, and amides. The laboratory component consists of a series of experiments that illustrate the synthesis of organic compounds and natural product isolation. A strong emphasis is put on analytical techniques for product separation and purification, as well as on instrumentation as a tool for studying properties and characterization of isolated compounds
