This course assists you in your journey to understanding the self. It deals with the nature of identity, as well the factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of identity. The course was designed to facilitate the exploration of issues and concerns regarding the self and identity to arrive at a better understanding of one's self.
The course is divided into three parts:
Part I: It seeks to construct the self through an exploration of various disciplinal perspectives such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
Part II: It provides insight into the aspects that make up the self including the physical and sexual selves.
Part III: It focuses on managing the self and highlights perspectives on self-care. The end goal of the course is to give you an ultimate understanding of yourself for optimal self-development.
