This course covers the nature, perspectives, theories and principles related to listening and speaking and the application of such theories/principles to listening and speaking and to the teaching of listening and speaking. It is aimed at acquainting or re-orienting teachers with the important aspects of listening and speaking instruction and at presenting much practical information or research-based information about the process of teaching listening and speaking to affirm or redirect existing practices of language teachers who are expected to be equipped with knowledge, principles and skills that enable them to adapt/develop strategies to ensure optimum development of their students’ listening and speaking.
