This course is a critical investigation of the relevant personality theories including the psychoanalytic, humanistic-existential, trait and the behavioral-learning theories. To assist the students in their analysis of these theories, emphasis is placed on each theory’s view on the structure and dynamics of personality, its characteristic research and research methods and its applicability to situations. The nature and dynamics of the Filipino personality will be given substantial attention as well. This course also provides students with an extensive comprehension of the structure of the mind and its characteristic functions to enable them to better understand personality deviations and psychotherapeutic processes. Students are expected to attain an insightful framework for their development as a true Marian and professional.
