Christian Faith Education (CFE) begins with this course. CFE 101 discusses the stories of the continuing journey of God with His people. The Biblical stories will serve as inspiration and guide in recognizing the unlimited and unconditional love of God to humanity and the world. Our journey with God started in His encounter with the people in the Old Testament led by Abraham and the prophets. God’s journey continued in the New Testament through His final and definitive revelation to bring the message of salvation – Jesus Christ. The journey continues today in our Christian communities through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The encounter of the early Christians (led by Jesus’ disciples) with God inspires and reminds us of the faithfulness of God to people, then and now, and in the days to come, as He said, “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Mt 28: 20). 

This course emphasizes on the foundational concepts in the study of Christian Morality. It reflects more deeply on moral actions rooted and guided by the Ten Commandments, Catholic Social Teachings and the renewed vision of life and love as taught and exemplified by Jesus Christ for the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God. In the midst of a plurality of moral issues and concerns in our time affecting the human person, family, ecology, and the society in general, this course seeks to answer what a meaningful life is in the light of the Christian faith and how the teachings of Jesus Christ be integrated into one’s own life choices and decisions in response to God’s offer of life and love – salvation, through an authentic Christian moral life and actions.

CFE 102: Christian Morality in Our Times is a core Christian Faith Education subject offered in CICM higher education institutions. The course focuses on the principles of Christian morality, human dignity, freedom, conscience, virtues, and social responsibility in the light of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It helps students understand and respond to modern moral issues affecting individuals, families, society, and the environment through faith-guided decision-making and authentic Christian living. The subject also encourages students to develop compassion, justice, integrity, and active participation in building a moral and humane society.

This course, Christian Faith Education (CFE) 103, focuses on the Catholic Foundations of Mission. As an academic course, it is crafted to provide a deeper understanding of our Christian mission by going back to its biblical roots, its nature, and its implication as further illustrated in various relevant Church teachings and documents. Our mission needs to be meaningfully dialogued with our contemporary situation to further understand the love of God that has been executed in the ministry of his Son Jesus Christ. Mission, therefore, is understand as the re-living of Jesus- event within the context of a changed situation. One important change is the shift from ecclesio-centric to theo-centric view of mission.
