Course Summary: Research Methodology for Undergraduate Thesis Writing
This course is designed to equip beginning researchers - especially undergraduate students - with the essential skills and knowledge needed to conduct academic research and prepare a thesis. Structured around eight comprehensive modules, the course covers the nature and purpose of research, problem formulation, thesis structure, literature review writing using APA 7th edition format, research methodology, qualitative and quantitative research approaches, data sources and sampling techniques, and the development of research instruments.
Each module integrates practical activities to reinforce learning and guide students through the research process, from conceptualization to proposal preparation. Updated to reflect current academic standards, the course includes modern sources, sample excerpts from actual research works, and institutionally aligned practices.
This is not a statistics course, but a hands-on methodology guide that supports both instructors and students in navigating the challenges of academic research. Developed by experienced mentors and research practitioners, the course aims to bridge gaps in understanding and empower students to produce well-structured, proposal-ready research manuscripts.
